We were all thrown off of our axis this year in some way. Overwhelm, fear, boredom, isolation; hopefully a combination of these emotions didn’t lead you to a dark place, eating jars of peach marmalade with your bare hands while binging The Big Bang Theory.
Slowly…very slowly, things are beginning to realign.
I thought it would be helpful, for myself as much as anyone, to consider some core rules and values as we head to 2021. A reminder of sorts since this year was such a mess. I don’t believe life automatically shifts to pure awesomeness on January 1 simply…
Draft week is upon us and the Cleveland Browns are on the clock, now, early, and often. It is a foregone conclusion that they will select one of the hyped QB quartet 1st overall, and some believe they possibly draft a 2nd QB at pick #4. That’s right, potentially 2 quarterbacks going to the same franchise within the first four picks of the draft. The Browns QB history is not fun so the need to nail this selection and find the face of the franchise for the next decade is paramount. …
It was a late, late weekend night, or an early, early weekend morning, depending on how you view things. For me, back in the early 2000's, it was certainly the former, and there were many such nights. A random phrase from one of them has stuck with me all these years, and that is, “The best we’ve got”.
I was at my apartment in Chelsea with two others, one guy and one girl, both good friends of mine. I’m guessing it was 2002 or 2003 and the time was most likely 4am-ish. …
I covered this topic on a podcast recently and thought it would be a good idea to present it in written form as well. If you prefer to listen rather than read, bang it here.
As I have gotten older, taking better care of myself has become a priority. My health, my brain, my happiness…all things I took for granted at a young age have stepped to the forefront of my life. I am constantly on the lookout for ways to grow. I have incorporated a number of habits and daily rituals that I believe improve my overall well-being.
Here…
Certain traditions have become so ingrained in our society that we tend to blindly accept them as they are. Often a contrarian thinker, I like to look at things from an outsider’s perspective and today, we are going to examine the concept of one the most sacred rites of passage that men experience, the Bachelor Party.
Common thought views the bachelor party as perfect, a chance to go celebrate with your closest friends before marriage, after which, chances to celebrate with said friends tend to hit a sharp decline. …
Donald Trump has given us a gift. He allows us to accomplish great things. Those who support this ‘man’ can stop reading now. The gift will not work for you. Go home.
A behavior that I decided to work on in 2016 is to follow through on things I say I want to do. With that crazy thing called Life always getting in the way, I often found myself not completing certain tasks, projects, experiences, and goals that I at some point planned on doing.
I decided to take the advice of Tim Ferriss, specifically stated in his book, The…
Many factors need to align for the truly great relationships in life to occur. Timing is everything. Some combination of age, values, career, family, location, history, lifestyle, among other things, need to intersect with another individual at exactly the right moment.
Kobe Bryant entered my life at the perfect time. I was 19, in college, a lifelong Laker die-hard, a hoops fanatic, and someone that appreciated greatness.
He was 17. An incredibly confident basketball savant drafted by the Hornets and traded to my Lakers that night. Jerry West, widely thought of as one of the greatest minds in league history…
My name is Chris, and I’m an Inbox Addict.
Addiction comes in many forms, so let’s quickly get it out of the way that I’m not comparing my dependency on the inbox to those that suffer and struggle on a daily basis with various substances. The definition of addiction is the fact or condition of being addicted to a particular substance, thing, or activity. The connotation of the word tends to point to a dark, negative place. I’m aware that ‘Inbox Addiction’ does not qualify. Let’s move on.
I check my inbox all day long. While sitting at my computer…
If you believe that email marketing is dead in the water, you should take a long hard look at your personal inbox. Chances are you will see more than a few signs of life. Contrary to what a number of people believe, email marketing efforts are definitely alive and well. In order for email to be the effective medium that it can be, however, it needs to go along with a sound content marketing strategy, which will help email become a powerful tool for promoting your business.
Over the years, email marketing has evolved. Gone are the days of simple…
Let’s think about this from a mathematical standpoint. If you have 1,000 customers and you make $50 per sale, then you’ve made $50,000, right?
So if we want to get more money (sounds like a plan), we could simply double the amount of customers from 1,000 to 2,000 so we have 2,000 customers each making us $50 per sale, making us $100,000.
Duh, right? That’s pretty easy to figure out and this is where most people focus.
But hereʼs the problem.
This is the least profitable way to grow your business believe it or not, and the reason why is…
